Assignment 5

When working at the computer you have to make sure you are working to the best of you ability.  You need do a few checks when you are starting to work for example

Health and safety

·         Check all wires are plugged in correct and they are out of view because you could stand up and trip over the wires and hurt yourself.

·         Adjusted your seat so you are sitting at the correct height because you could get a sore neck or back by sitting in a bad position.

·         Check the lighting in the room suits you because you will get sore eyes and you will find it very hard to see the computer if the sun shinning thought the window.

·         Have a break from the computer every hour because it would not be good for your vision if you look at a computer all day.

·         Never eat or drink near the computer because it only takes a little mistake to spill something over the keyboard or screen and it’s very costly if you do.

When connecting the peripherals.

When connecting the peripherals to the computer you have to make sure that all the plugs are turned off before you plug them in. After doing that make sure you are putting all the wires into the correct place. Make sure you put the printer in a good place that it is not sitting right in front of you because other people will be using it too.

Hide the wires down the back of the computer desk because if the catch on someone foot they will be broke. Check every night before you go to bed that the plugs are turned off. When connecting some peripherals you need to install some software. After you install all the software the peripherals should all be working correctly.

·         Digital Camera

·         Microphone

·         Mouse

In this picture it is me connecting the camera to the USB port at the front of the computer.

This is when I connected the camera to the computer and it downloaded the software needed for the computer. And now it is ready to use.

This is when I connected the camera to the computer and I saved the pictures to my H drive on my computer. That is all the pictures I had taken on the camera.


Testing for functionality

When you think you have connected you hardware to the computer you have to test it to make sure it is working property. for example when connecting the speckers you will see at the bottom right of the screen that the specker is working. I will show you how to now in a few screen prints.

This screen print shows that there is no specker connected so you have to dobule check that the wires or connected properly.
